ITAL 4040 Topics in 19th- and 20th-Century Italian Literature

Topics may include Leopardi, Manzoni, Carducci, Verga, Pascoli, DAnnunzio, Pirandello, Calvino, Pasolini; the avant-garde; contemporary poetry, novel or drama; the history of Italian cinema and special topics in Italian cinema, such as the silent era, neorealism, the work of a major director, and the relationship between literature and film.
