Modern Political Theory
An analysis of the development of political theory since the 16th century with emphasis on modern ideologies especially conservatism, liberalism, communism, and fascism. Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, Burke, Bentham, and Marx are given particular attention.
For majors only. Non-major juniors and seniors may enroll in courses at the 4000-level or above only with the consent of the instructor.
Pre-requistites: POLT 2700 or POLT 3820.
